Ebay/fundraising question
Hey folks,
Here are a couple of fundraising questions. 1. I've got a bunch of National Geographic magazines that are from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Do you think anyone would want them on Ebay? I NEVER use Ebay, so I don't know much about it. 2. When you folks do fundraisers prior to adopting--like getting people to give you their stuff for a big garage sale or getting them to donate on a website or other things......do you worry that if you get them to donate to that stuff and then you end up not making enough to afford to adopt? What happens then? We would really like to adopt again, but there is no way we'd afford it a second time without SIGNIFICANT help. When we adopted Rosie, my folks gave us $300, dh's mom gave us $500, and dh's sister-in-law gave us $117. That's all we got. All the rest was borrowed. Any ideas would be most welcome. Thanks!

We just started selling some things on ebay this week so I will have to let you know how we do. I have heard of several people who make a couple thousand dollars. I don't think you would be able to fund your entire adoption through ebay, but you may be surprised at what you could make. We are just starting so, like I said, I will have to let you know how we do after a couple of weeks. Good luck! Jenny

Hi. I sell books and fabric on ebay. I make a little bit of money, but not the thousands of dollars I need to raise...what types of things do the people who say they make a lot on ebay sell? For the most part, I have sold my own things, but sometimes I pick up books at a garage sale.

Ebay
yes... I think people would buy the National Geographics. My brother collects old issues.

Trice,
The things that seem to make quite a bit of money on ebay are name brand clothes. Many people who sell a lot of stuff buy clearance items at places like GAP and Gymboree, and then sell them for more than they paid. Gymboree items seem to sell for quite a bit when they are new with tags. When they have a major clearance sale you might buy a few things(maybe stuff that would fit Rosie in case you don't sell it)and try selling them and see how it goes. If you need any more Ebay advice PM me because I have bought and sold lots of stuff(I have over 300 feedbacks if that tells you how much I have used Ebay)and might be able to help you out some more.
