Hi Steph,

I'm a big gift basket freak, so a themed basket is the first thing that comes to mind.

An appropriate theme, of course, depends on your hubby's interests and possibly your location. The first thing I thought of is a zoo basket--passes to the zoo, zoo-themed toys for the baby, perhaps a nice book on a related issue for your husband, but the possibilites are endless. I would include some things expressly for you husband, some things for the baby, and some things for them both.

Just an idea.

Valerie

How about a gift that keeps on giving!

O.K.,

This is just me, and I don't know what the new daddy is into, but....How about a blueberry bush, or fruit tree that he and Parker could plant "together" and watch grow as he grows and pick the fruit together to enjoy year after year.

Or a journal to write thoughts about his new baby and information about himself for the future?

Or Sear's has a cool set of bar-b-que tools that have the same handles as their screwdrivers and stuff?

Just some ideas. Good Luck in finding a cool gift!

From a new dad's point of view in order:

1. New car
2. Anything electronic, i.e. ipod, DVR, Sat TV, GPS for new car
3. Tools tools and more tools. It doesn't matter what they are we will find a way to use them and promptly break something.

Yes, a New Car!! Don't tell my husband it will spoil his gift. YEAH RIGHT!!!!

Okay. we are having a baby shower this weekend so I will be giving my husband his father's day gift then. We have a boat that has been 'unnamed' until just recently when we both decided to name it after our son. So...I am having the stickers made of our son's name so he can 'officially' name the boat. Also, he was really anxious to get our son a life jacket so I bought one for him today, that matches his daddie's. Still looking to add to the theme, but not sure what. Swim trunks that match if I can find them.

take care, love the ideas.

I bought a plain white t-shirt and using fabric paint that you can get at any craft store and probably WalMart, will put mine and Gabriella's handprints on it. And also, DH's Mum's handprint. She is here visiting for a couple of weeks.

Grins!

Steph,
You just have to include something spiderman related! I know he's a proud papa.

Enjoy!

Father's Day

I bought my husband a tie from the online walmart website that has our baby's picture on it. The tie is not even expensive and it arrived today. You just select a picture and scale it to the size that they ask and upload it and then your order is placed and it comes in the mail.

I bought my husband books about fathers and sons that they can read together.
They have a huge selection at Barnes and Noble.
They love to read together, and so I think that they will enjoy them together.

My husband is a stay at home dad so his car is the one that gets the most baby abuse -- I am giving him a gift certificate to get his car detailed -- hopefully they'll be able to remove the years worth of Cheerios.

And a wallet, since the one he has is falling apart.
