We asked our 5 year old son! He wanted a SISTER!! Go figure! I would have assumed he wanted brother but he was positive. He is such a loving little guy, I think he just knew a sister would be his best buddy.

They are adorable together. (When they aren't fighting, heehee. Who would have thought a being 5 years apart that they could still find things to fight about. Sheesh! I have heard it really doesn't matter if they are 1 or 10 years apart, they still act like this!) It's kind of funny because she thinks she is such a big girl already and he thinks that she KNOWs exactly what she is doing all the time as if she has the mind of a 6 year old too. Hmmm, maybe she does!

I am so glad that I have one of each now. I can finally experience the difference. Yes, oh yes, there is a BIG difference. I will have to say that in my opinion boys are MUCH easier for a mommy and girls are much easier for Daddy. This seems to be the case for all of my friends too. I think that boys just tend to adore their mothers and girls tend to gravitate towards being Daddy's little girls. Yes, jtmom, girls are FUN FUN FUN to dress though, aren't they?!!

I had to laugh at Optimisticfor3. My little girl is not being "managed" either. She has a mind of her own and is extremely independent. I sure I hope I go through menopause before she becomes a teenager otherwise 2 hormonal women in the house is going to be a real "adventure??" for the poor guys in the house.

I think that my husband was kind of happy that my son said "sister". I think he really wanted to experience the father- daughter relationship thing. Boy has he!!! She has totally captured his heart. He has grown so much since she has come home. He really adores having a little girl and in her eyes there is nothing that compares with Daddy! My son has always been 100% mommy's biggest fan, for you women that have boys, you probably know what I mean. For those of you that don't have boys, most of time you can see it in your own husband's relationship with his mom. I am glad that my husband is getting to experience the other side.

Personally, my kids both have their unique qualities and I am blessed to be have both of them. I wouldn't trade it for anything!
