Homestudy visit over and other ramblings

Hey everyone,

Well, today was an exciting day. We had our homestudy update visit. Actually, I guess it is technically the homestudy for our second adoption, but it seemed like just an update as things have not changed all that much in the 10 months since our first homestudy! We're one step closer to having our dossier together. We still have doctors appointments at the end of the week, our reference letter writers need to get on the ball , and we have to wait on our state's central registry to clear us (in order to date the homestudy) and we're getting our last bank letter tomorrow. Oh, and we're waiting on my husband's birthcertificate from out of state.

You would think I would feel exstatic that we've pulled this all together in less than 2 weeks. But I'm feeling really anxious again. I've decided I really stink at waiting for a referral. It is such a time of huge anxiety for me until the POA is signed and registered then I feel a tad bit better.

We also got news from the social worker (who works with our agency) that our Guatemalan attorney was concerned about some raids or a police visit to a foster home in Guatemala? Has anyone heard anything about this? The social worker does not always understand the messages relayed to her as she is not extremely familiar with the Guatemalan process. So I'm hoping this was just some piece of news she was trying to pass along, but it has me alittle concerned. I guess I really need to email the Guatemalan program director who speaks daily to our attorney and figure out what she meant.

I guess I'm just feeling low tonight. Worried about getting a referral again, concerned about Londy, missing her and wanting to meet her. I know you all know how it is....that's why I'm rambling.

Thanks for listening.

Kim
