Embassy visit- what docs to bring?

Only one of us is going to Guatemala to pick up our child. Can you help me with your experience?

First, did you have to bring copies of both spouses birth certificates? And if so, how many copies? (I'd need to order more)

Did you need certified copies of the marraige certificate? How many?

Did you need to have both spouses passports even though only one spouse is there?

What else (besides the money) did you need to bring to the embassy? Our agency is not sure these days.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Sandi

Embassy

Sandi, you will also need a Power Of Attorney typed up and notarized for your husband with his signature. Ask your agency how it needs to be worded and all. I have heard some stories where people went to Embassy without husband's POA and they had to get one before they could proceed with things.

Our facilitator let me know what to take and I have been getting things ready.
