We did Noha's Ark. Bought some fun silly looking fabric and my aunt made the stuff. Very Cute (eventhough my aunt got in a huge fight with my mom and now nobody is speaking) But the Quilt is still pretty!!
For the girl (that's if I EVER EVER EVER GET A REFERRAL) I'm doing John Lennon by Carters. jan |

I had originally thought I was getting a boy and found so many boy decors that I loved. Being a sports fan, I was going to go with a navy carpet and baseball stitching wallpaper with a baseball border. I was all ready to go and got the news that I was referred to a little girl. That threw a hitch in the baseball decor, so out I went and had the most difficult time finding a pattern that wasn't too fairy princess like. I'm not exactly the doll/princess type of mom. In the end, also being an animal lover, I went with a bunny rabbit/teddy bear theme and a heather blue carpet. I love it and can't wait for my little girl to come home.

I've made a decision...
Now that I have had a chance to view what everyone else has done I guess its my turn.
Last night I ordered the bedding for African Safari. It has gorgeous sage and darker greens and shades of gold. Its covered with tropical palm trees and safari animals. The bedskirt is so cool, it has a bottom of the safari print and then a big section is a big weave or lace of gold and then what looks like linen in off white makes up the rest of it. We are going to age the walls with sage and gold, and to save money on the wall boader (it would cost us over 200.00 thats just awful!!) I am goin to decopauge animal prints matted with green along the top. A trip to Kirklands should provide the accessories at a resonable price. I can't wait to get started now! Thanks for all the great ideas, I wish we all had access to scanning the pictures.

What a great idea to start this thread!
We have two boys. Our oldest is 13 months and we decorated his room in a sports theme. I did a sports stencil all around the room, made denim curtains with a red sports border, sports rugs, etc. Just too adorable and VERY boyish! Our younger son is 6 months old and we decorated his room in a transportation theme. I bought a package of stick on pictures of cars, planes, and boats and painted the top of his room in a light blue and the bottom in a light green. I then took chalkboard paint and painted a black stripe all around the room, took a white paint pen and made the black stripe look like a road. Then we put all of the giant stickers up - this is EVERYONE's favorite room! Good luck to all who are in this fun process!

My husband and I are waiting until we get a referral for a boy before starting the nursery, but that doesn't mean I haven't been thinking of what it will be like. I think we are going to do a barnyard theme (we live in the country and my husband loves his tractor). We will do green hills and a blue sky on the wall with a big red barn and all of the animals to go along with it. I can't draw, but www.wallnutz.com has paint by number murals that are pretty cool (and look easy too). I also found some great bedding at www.fleecies.com for $189 for the entire set! We hope for a referral in the next 2-3 weeks! Pray for us!

I fell in love with the Train toddler bed by Tiny Tikes and purchased that shortly after his referral. Our son
is now 13months. We live in a Log Cabin so I couldn't paint the walls and wanted the room bright. I didn't want it too look babyish. The Train bed is in primary colors which was my original plan. To brighten up the room I made a curtain and the material is all different color stars. I purchased a spread for the bed that you just sew the binding on which has trains on it. Also purchased some primary color plastic shelves and a 3 drawer chest. Not sure if he will be ready for the toddler bed when he gets home but just had to have it. I also have a portable crib like what they have at the Marriott so that will work if I need that for awhile. Took a picture to the foster family during my visit and they loved it. This is a great thread I enjoyed seeing what everyone has done. It's also some good tips for those who have started their rooms yet. Best wishes to everyone!!!

What a GREAT idea! I think you have artists in the family.
Most of my family lives on the East coast, and I like that way of keeping them close. HOpe you don't mind if I borrow it (you know that imitation is the greatest form of flattery...! Ypsi |
