List of things needed for child coming home?
Is there a list somewhere that lists what all you need for child coming home (as in essentials). Logically I know I will need a crib and car seat, etc., but what about all the other stuff: bottles, sippy cups, bedding, diaper essentials, etc.? I am nowhere near gotcha day, but I worry about these things, and some of my friends are asking me to start registering for things. I am not even sure if I will have a shower or not.

If you go to register at a place like BabiesRUs...they will give you a list of many things you can choose from.
Something to keep in mind is the age of your child when he/she comes home...some of the really 'baby' stuff you may not need...you might want to start getting some of the 'toddler' things instead.

Becky
Does BRU have a list of essentials for toddlers? I have only seen the one for newborns but I am not always the most observant person in the world! Tina waiting for Alexandra, born 11/18/02 |

I did what Becky suggested. I went to babies r us and got the list of baby stuff. The things you will need for toddlers are there too just don't buy the baby baby stuff.
It was quite overwelming at first, but i took it step by step. One day i went for the stroller after doing research and realized what options i wanted. I have to carry it up steps so i got one that is only 9lbs, parent and child trays, a large basket in the back, a window from the back of the canopy to view my daughter, and the top folds back if i don't want her covered. Then i worked on the high chair. I knew i didn't want anything too big and bulky. and went on from there. so, my advice is to take it step by step concentrating on one thing at a time. Some things will have to wait until you see how old your child will be. Go to www.babiesrus.com and start looking. There are lists of recommended items for your reference there too with pics. best of luck to you. rosie Last edited by rosiedaffodil : 01-26-2004 at 11:33 AM. |
