Just curious- has anyone else been in PGN for over 3-4 months with no previos? I have not heard of any kickouts with our case. Most of the postings I read have people in and out of PGN over a couple months with previos. Our case was started back in June, and sent to PGN in Sept. I feel it must be at the bottom of some stack....

I believe it all depends on how often your attourny goes to check on the progress of your case. (as to how long your are there) Also, if there is a mistake and you must re-do paperwork (privos) how quickly does he re-submit them for you...IT seems to all boil down to how the attourny does (or doesn't do) his job. You have not been in that long yet, many are in for months. (we were in for 14 months, but that is extreme) If you go visit your child anytime soon, stop by and visit PGN yourself. This seems to help get you out sooner. But it seems you have a good attourny, (you got a receit), maybe your wait won't be too much longer, just keep checking on your case through your agency!
Good Luck and may your wait be short! oh well.

There is absolutely no way of knowing how long PGN will take. It's a crap shoot...depends on who is reviewing your file. Depends on your paperwork, the paperwork of your attorney...so many variables.

I would sit back and prepared for at least a 3 month wait...it seems that that has been the 'norm' lately. If you get out sooner then it will just be a great big joyful surprise!

JuliannaTeresa,

Do you mean that pgn had been on holiday until Thursday January 15? They didn't open until January 15?

Half the PGN group went during one Nov15-Dec15 and the others went during Dec 15-Jan 15. But everyone should be back now.

Barbara,
Our case has been in the PGN since Dec 5. Our agency stated it could take about 9-10 weeks! Then 4-6 for travel! All of this is subject to change with previos or the moving of the earth! We are right along with you!

We accepted our referral July 7, 2003 and went into PGN Nov 24, 2003 and to date have heard nothing. Our agency told us that it could be 6 months or longer in PGN, while we've heard 90 days from other sources. For now we just pray that we get out before everything starts to expire and we redo paperwork for the 3rd time.

We finally went in 12/17/03 and on 1/12/04 we found out we'd already been issued a small previo and resubmitted. Not sure when we were kicked out, but we had to be resubmitted either 1/9 or 1/12 since lawyer was out of town until 1/8.

We were very surprised to find out our file had been looked at so quickly (pleasantly surprised because we've had SO many setbacks it was nice to finally see something work in a timely fashion).

You don't always hear when your case is kicked out. If the previos are on the Guatemalan end, the attorney doesn't always tell the agency. And some agencies don't seem to have good communication with the attorney handling the case, for one reason or another, so they don't hear about the "little" things that some think shouldn't concern the adoptive family.

I hope we all get good PGN news soon!

Tina
