Does anyone have experiences to share regarding FHSA?

Can anyone share any experience that they may have had while adopting from Guatemala and using Florida Home Studies and Adoptions? Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi Shannon,

Please feel free to PM me. We completed our adoption of our daughter this summer with FHSA.

I would be happy to give you my perspective.

FHSA

We used FHSA - started in February of this year and exited PGN on Dec. 17. They came highly recommended by our social worker, who has 3 adopted guatemalan children of her own. We have been happy with them - we received fairly regular medical reports with videos and photos - we have friends who used a different agency that have received virtually nothing the entire time (in terms of videos, medical reports, etc.). They are also still waiting to exit PGN. I don't think any agency is perfect or can ever live up to our individual standards all the time but I think they are very reputable and use VERY good guatemalan attorney's. I think with the Hague mess and UNICEF, it sort of brought out the worst in everyone, with emotions running very high. I would not hesitate, however, to recommend FHSA.

We completed an adoption in August of this year. FHSA underwent many changes during the spring of this past year. We were very happy with them until that point. From that point on, I could no longer recommend the agency. Good luck with your decision.
