agencies who don't give you the time of day

Is anyone else in the same boat we are in?

I have been emailing my agency since late September demanding to know why our DNA hasn't been authorized...wanting to know if and when the attorney tried to get it, what document it is they claim he can't obtain because it's expired, and what he intends to do about it and WHEN.

Since then, I have received one defensive email...defensive in that they said they *had* responded and would even forward the messages I somehow never got. Well, I am still waiting. Obviously those messages didn't exist (they even said they sent them to multiple email addresses of ours to make sure they got there. NOT!). And that they would be talking to the lawyer that day (October 7th), and would get right back to me. Hmmm. That's almost a month and I can not get a reply. I've tried calling before and had no more luck than with email...just get a machine and no return call.

It amazes me that they would be so defensive, yet STILL provide not one inkling of information, then never reply again. I feel like I don't even have an adoption being processed (and apparently, I don't).

So, to my agency...if you are reading this...get your act together and do what you were hired to do. This is completely outrageous!!!

It is so sad that there are agencies that run that way. I have a very good friend who had an agency that was the same way. When I read such things I always wonder if it's the same agency or just a common practice.

Our agency always replied within 2hrs even if they had no new news to report.

I hope you hear something soon.

I'm with Julianna Teresa. Send a letter insisting on specific information, and let them know you expect that the response be mailed in similar fashion within 10 working days. If you've got one, it might be worth the 100 bucks to ask your lawyer to write the letter.

Good luck. This is a terrible story, and I can't wait until you are able to broadcast from the highest mountain the name of this lazy irresponsible agency.

July 17 Birthmother interview
Aug 7-11 Visiting in Guatemala!
Waiting for DNA
Dian if this is a ctrue time line you give, I would have many concerns, first off a reputable agency should have never referred a child with no dossier in hand especiallly no INS aproval!! This is so wrong. The fact that you were matched with no dossier and no I171 tells me this agency was only thinking about MONEY-
I also have a feeling letters even sertified will get you no where.
There are only a few guat agency's that operate like this ,ad their reputations are not good hope you are not with one of these agencies. They took your money and you are post mch 5 did they not explain what was going on in gc??

Good Luck

I don't know how far your agency is from where you live, but I recommend you jump in the car or get on a plane and pay them a visit. They're supposed to be providing a service to you - if there not, it's time to get into their faces!
