how long is too long in fc?

i just wanted to know how long is too long in fc? we were told 3 times we were out of fc, but found out this week we are still in there, nov 8th will make 5 months is this normal? they said it was because of the social worker, she has not written the report yet. what do you do when your agency gives you false info?also how long must you be the process to even consider the adoption supervisors? we were also told 2 times we were being submitted to pgn but who knows!

could please someone tell me something

I have been in FC since July 2. I am very frustrated. I want DNA, out of FC and into PGN but even though I have been promised this for weeks (or is it months now???). NOTHING is happening.

Oh, I might add...FC is going on a vacation for a MONTH...I know for sure #3 is going in the middle of NOV till probably the middle of DEC and then it is Christmas and New Year's, etc. So, if we are not out of FC by Nov. I will probably lose all hope.

We decided now we aren't going in Dec...I just don't have it in me to leave her again...and neither does my husband.

Does anyone know of a good domestic adoption agency in case I want to adopt an infant? I won't abandon Isabella but I may want another one too.

Who knows? I will probably get #2 before Isabella!!!

5 months is too long. Your agency lying is wrong. You need to do something. Are you in court #3? If so, you need to instruct your agency to pull your case and have it reassigned...court #3 is no longer even allowed to take adoption cases...because they refuse to write the reports.

Take some action...you have every right to do so.

We thought we were in Family Court in June, well it turned out we weren't. Our POA didn't get filed until July, we did get through family Court in late July, early august (actually we have no Idea when we went in just that we exited.)

Start pressing then on finding out what's taking them soooo long.

We've also been in FC five months and getting extremely frustrated. My husband finally called and asked if we were being had. He was told the same thing... waiting for the workers report... we shall see.

I wish I knew what advice to give because I need it myself.

family court #3

We were originally entered in family court #3 on April 2 - our attorney pulled our case out around June 15 and reentered us in another court. We were released from the second court on June 27th - less than two weeks later! I highly suggest you get your attorney to move you out of family court #3.

Good luck,

I spent almost 9 months in FC!!! That is way too long. 5 Months is way to long. Becky is absolutly right! You need to find out if your case is in the #3 court and request it to be reassigned. I didnt know to do that untill I came to this board. I was in #3 and it took me the 9 months. Also you need to do something if you know your agency is lying to you! That is your child over there and you are the only one that is fighting for him or her! I was always afraid to do anything as I might make things worse, but dont let that scare you, you agency and facilitaors are working for you! You have every right to know answers and have a say in what is going on. Good luck

I agree with everyone else, that 5 months is too long! We were there for three months and that seemed like eternity.

To use adoption supervisors you can start anytime. I would recommend contacting them, especially if your agency isn't telling you accurate information.

They will be very glad to help you and you will get truthful information.

I hope that you can get released from FC very soon and on with this process!

I was told 4 months

last year i was in fc 3 for 4 months. 5 months is way to long Unless they cant find the ** or the ** wont show for the interviews. Either way your lawyer and agency should tell you this is what is happening. You can not go into pgn w/o coming out of fc. You can get dna done at anytime if your atty gets approval fromt he us embassy.
Good luck
I have never used adoption supervisors but would suggest you posty to the big list and ask.
