Two babies going home

I visited Guatemala last weekend. There were three other families where I was staying. Two of these families were headed for the US embassy on Monday. I believe both were pre-March 5th.

The feeling I got from talking to some of the folks 'in the know' is that there is some movement, but not the flood that we all hoped for--at least not yet.

lol too funny..
did you say ten a day?
lets see ..that would be 200 a month..right??
20 working days...
not too bad...
now if it gets up to 30 to 40 a day ..we are really rockin'!!!!

It is probably at least 20/ day if there are two appointmnet groups.

I checked the Embassy web site in reference to adoptions, and the appointments are Mon-Thur so it is probably more like 300-320 cases per month.....

Wow, based on those numbers, and a lot of assumptions, it sure seems like more cases are being released than we hear about.

And that of course, doesn't account for any families from other countries.

This is wonderful to hear....

Everyone , thanks so much for sharing! Wow, annasdad, congrats on bringing home your sweet child and thanks for telling us how many appointments there were. I personally find this very encouraging! I know of one family that had an embassy date last week and one that is going next week! So....maybe it is true that there is more movement than we know about. I have to remind myself that not everyone posts when they are out.

I am feeling really positive about having my baby home by Christmas. I realize anything can change in Guatemala on a moments notice, but it seems for now things are moving. Hooray!

Well it seems I left myself logged in here at the Westin and someone posted under my name. Oh well...I was at the embassy also on Monday but in the first group at 7am. We are brining home our daughter this weekend and were in the old premarch group. There are post people coming out so keep up the hope.
