Talking Home with Jason

Hi everyone

Just wanted to write a little message telling you we are back from our pick up trip! We even had problems when we got there. They forgot to pick us up at the airport, we were supposed to get the baby at 2, but they never showed up till almost 7:30! I think the biggest thing was they never showed up to take us to the embassy, so there we were in the middle of Guatemala city having to try and find the embassy on our own! but bottom line we handled everything and our son is home!!!!! You know when they brought him to us, the hotel cleared out the lobby and the baby was standing there and the foster family formed an arch behind him so when we stepped off the elevator it looked like he was standing there by his self. I bent down to his level and told him hello, and this beautiful little angel looked at me and smiled then started to run to me and said Ma, and hugged my neck. At that point I hit my knees and balled! I just didnt expect his reception to us to be so overwellming I fully expected some hesitation. It is truly the best feeling in the world. And to all of you still waiting, and going through so much stress and heart ache, it has been said befor, ( I never belived it) but you truly forget all the pain and suffering you did during the wait! All you know is you have a beautiful angle and your family is whole! Infact I said PGN who? Hang in there all it will happen! I plan on getting my photos developed today and I will post a picture hopefully tommorow!

Tammy,

What a beautiful message. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! I cried just reading your story. That is so wonderful and you must feel truly blessed. I know you've been through a lot during the wait, and many of us are feeling the same way right now - wondering if it will EVER happen. You give us hope and are an inspiration! Thanks again for sharing.

What a beautiful story. I am so happy that you are finally home. We too had to find the embassy ourself on our 1st adoption because our translator was late. I said to dh we are going by ourself if it's the last thing we do. She finally showed up at the embassy. You will NEVER forget the 1st time you see your child.

For stories like this we need a Kleenex warning!

WARNING: The story you are about to read is beautiful and heart warming. Have a large box of kleenex next to you at all times.

What a happy ending/beginning!

Enjoy...

Thanks for sharing! What a great story!

On our recent visit we also found that time in Guatemala moves very differently. They were 2 hours late to bring us our daughter and then 2 hours late coming to take her back to her foster family.

And speaking with some other waiting parents, found they had similiar experiences!
