Questions on Second Adoption

Hello! This is my first post - I have enjoyed reading all that I have so far. My husband and I adopted a beautiful boy three years ago from Guatemala. We had a great adoption experience and homefront has had its bumbs but overall a wonderful experience. Now, we are thinking of going back and getting a little girl. I was wondering about any second adoption experiences that anyone has had.
Thanks s much!
Lynn

A reply from a lurker!!

I love the boards, but I don't have to much time to post these days. My dh and I have adopted twice from Guatemala, and we were incredibly blessed both times. Our son Benjamin was matched with us at one month of age, and he came home at 4 months in October of 2000. Our daughter Christiana was 6 weeks old when we received her referral and 6 months old at homecoming in October of 2002. We didn't request infants either time, but I guess we were just meant to have babies. Both adoptions went smoothly, although the passports did tend to take some time back then. We traveled both times, and we loved every minute of our time in Guatemala. We would love to adopt again, and we had great experiences. Both children had great foster care and are developmentally on track or advanced for their ages. If you have any more questions, just ask. I say, "Go for it!"
Karen, mommy to Benjamin & Christiana from Guatemala and to their baby brother Bryan by birth
