How long was your referral wait?

Well along the way we have had 6 referrals as some of you may already know. Each time we had a referral within 24 hrs. The hard thing was waiting for INS approval because I knew as soon as we had that our agency had waiting children.

Our first referral was within 5 mos. of signing with our agency. We lost that referral 3 1/2 mos. later. Then within a few weeks we had 3 referrals. The third one obviously being Ian!

We waited for 2 months with our original agency who had only done 2 other guat adoptions. Then I got fed up and went on the web and checked out the photolistings. My little one was not on the photolist, but she had just been available that day. Of course after seeing her we were in love.

So I guess we waited only 2 months. But I heard the agency stopped doing adoptions to guat soon after we switched. I believe in destiny and know we were meant for Erin. I need her as much as she needs me!!

From application to referral it was 14 months.....

then from referral to travel was another 10 months....

yipee, leaving tomorrow to get my Guat tot.

our referral was 3 months. we hadn't even finished all the documents by the time we got the referral. had to hurry and finish (get some people moving) so we could have all our documents there within a week! we hadn't expected a referral until our dossier was completed and translated. it was a happy and surprising phone call!!!!!!!

Our wait was 4 1/2 mos. from the time we turned in our dossier. It actually happened pretty quick for us, because at the time our agency told us to expect up to a 6mo wait. And our little one is amazing can't wait to get her home. We just found out that she is in a foster family of 10!!

Our referal came within 3 weeks of completing our dossier.

Our referral came almost a month to the day or our turning in our dossier. Our agency kept us updated as to where we were on the waiting list but still we were very surprised it was so quick.

Our referral was almost instant, we found our first referral on the photolisting on the website and put her on hold. We lost that referral, a month later and then immed. accepted our second referral again from the photo listing. It was well worth it to have gone through the heart ache of losing the first.

Although we still pray for the first referral and think of her, we know that Jayden Maria was meant from the beginning to be our daughter and can't wait to have her home!

Once I was paper-ready, I waited seven months for referral of my daughter.

The Day the INS office approved us we called our facilitator and told her we had been approved and we would be sending her our pappers. Well about 10 minutes after we talked she called us back and said she was just notified of a baby boy born a week ago werre we interested! So We only waited 10 minutes for our referal LOL.

We sent in our application at the beginning of December. On March 11, I hand-delivered our dossier to our agency. Exactly one week later, we had our referral for Isaac who was 11 days old at the time.

We received our referral the day of or the day after our agency received our Dossier! Our daughter was 9 days old at the time. All of this happened in the middle of the Holiday Season too!!! Our agency is sooooo GREAT!!!
