Hi Everyone!
Does anyone have a clue about what is going on with PGN? I hear they are closed! How long are they closed for? Does this mean all the Pre-March 5 cases that have been in PGN for some time now are signed off???? Oh please let it be so! When I called PGN last week they said the cases usually take 15 days to be reviewed, that is as long as there are no issues. When I called she said we had 7 days to go and she said it should be signed off by today or could it have been yesterday? Oh why didn't I call yesterday! I thought about it and told myself to wait one more day, because she said 7 days. Today is the actually 15th day! I have to go through the whole weekend wondering.

We did get word today the birthmom signed off, I think that had to be yesterday. Does this mean we are almost done?

How long are the rest of the steps and what are they? I am out of my mind right now and can't think straight.

I hope everyone brings their little angels home soon!

I'm certainly no expert, but the way I understand it, once the birthmom signs off you have to get the passport, birth certificate, visa, etc... all of which usually takes 2-4 weeks.

I think you're on your way to Guatemala!!

The U.S. Embassy has to now issue a pink slip to your attorney and then you will get the call that you can go and get your baby. That is what is left :>

The birth mother doesn't 'sign off' for the last time until you are out of PGN and the adoption decree is issued (that's what she signs off on). So...if your attorney meant she signed off for the LAST time, then your case has to have been released from PGN.

There are 4 times that the birthmom signs in an adoption...so I don't know if this is the time your attorney is referring to or not. I sure hope so...if so, then you have a new birth certificate, passport, embassy physical and pink slip (all of which could take less than 2 weeks) and you are ready to travel.

When you called PGN, were you able to speak to someone who speaks English or do you speak Spanish? We have been in PGN for 16 weeks. I would love to find out some info but I don't speak Spanish. I guess I could try to find a translator.

Thank you for all your responses and the prayers, I truly appreciate them!!!

I hope we are done! I just want to have Carly home before she is 1. It has been such a long hull and I just want it to be over !!We want to start our lives with Carly as a family.

I am so excited for you!!
Let me know whats going on when you find out for sure.
I've been praying for everyone to get through this and get our children soon.
We got some more info from our agency and so far I'm feeling better about things.

This is the only post I have read, either here or on the big list saying anything about PGN being closed....

If PGN had really closed down for any reason, wouldn't there be more discussion about it?

I don' think PGN is closed. I have read about three people saying they got out this week(pre- March 5) so it would seem like they can't be closed.

Two other people on another forum were told by their agency that PGN is closed. I found out it is for a month and for post 3/5 cases.

All I know is that I tried to call yesterday and the phone rang and rang. I tried a different number and all that did was ring and ring.

I am praying for all of you to have their babies home!

I hope that this means that you'll be traveling real soon to bring home Carly! What exciting news! Let us know as soon as you hear anything more.
About PGN.....do you mean that it is closed for post March 5th cases? That would make some sense if they are trying to finish up the pre-March 5th cases before accepting the post March 5th cases again. Just thinking out loud here....
