Taca Airlines
Can any tell me if they have had any experiences with TACA airlines? I am wondering how their flights are. I am able to get a direct flight from NYC to GC and a good price. All the american carriers seem to be long flights with at least one layover.
Any information would be very helpful. Robin waiting for Joshua b. 12/30/02 exited fc 6/17/03 in limbo |

Maggie:
Go to www.taca.com . They are a latin american airline (I think). They have rates a little cheaper but I like the thought of a direct flight. Robin |

Taca
I have taken a cousin (Latin American Partner) of Taca, Sansa, in Costa Rica. I was impressed. From what I understand though, Taca offers flights from the US which many times make stops. They are direct flights (no plane changes), but often, these flights stop somewhere first, like San Salvador. Good luck. You should have NO problem!

I normally fly American to GT from Miami but for our next trip TACA was cheaper. We are leaving in 2 weeks which may be too late for you. I do know that my agency has said to me they prefer TACA to American. I have heard others say good things about them. The only bad thing is you are not there well enough in advance and they are over booked they give away your seat. But what airline doesn't???

I have flown TACA between the US and Guatemala City and think they're the cat's pajamas! They are FAA certified. You can earn American Airlines frequent flyer miles on TACA and they fly many of the same routes as American. The service was spectacular. The flight attendants seemed to relish their job. While US carriers toss a granola bar or a cookie your way as a "snack" on the plane, when I flew TACA the snack was a hot chicken sandwich with tomato, plantain chips, and a dessert. My only word of warning was that it was Spanish speaking flight, all the safety information and baggage claim info was given in Spanish; however if my memory servers we right they translated into English as well.
