Hi everyone.
I live in Philadelphia, and a reporter wrote a very long article in the Philadelphia Inquirer this week about his adoption of a daughter from China. The article was extremely well written, and although his experience in China differed in many ways from Guatemala, many things were the same. I identified with so much that the reporter wrote, I was in tears by the end of the story. I emailed him to let him know how touched I was by the article, and also explained the current situation in Guatemala. He wrote back that he was familiar with the problems in Guatemala, and would pass on my email to some other reporters he thought would be interested in doing a story on Guatemala (he can't do a story on the same subject matter for a certain period of time). I will let you all know what happens, but I think it would be wonderful to have some avenue to make people aware of what all those waiting for their children are enduring. Since we have our son home, we are not still "waiting" but I'm anxious to adopt another child from Guatemala, and am heartbroken for everyone who has not yet been able to have their child home. I live in the Philadelphia area (Camden County, NJ) and am waiting for a post 3/5 child. I would be willing to talk to the Inquirer if they decide to do a story, and need someone who has an active case. It's GREAT to get our word out!
