Waiting lists

Hi.. We have also just started and often get nervous because of the Hague... I was just curious if anyone after 3/5 has received a referral and how long they waited... we are asking for a boy.

boys

Hi, I think it is sad that so many boys in Guat. are waiting for families. I was told it is because the women are normally the ones who begin the process and are looking for girls. You should be able to receive a referral for a boy right away. Go to www.precious.org and you can view photos of so many with agency info as well. I know some people do not like photolisting, however, I had success with the process.
Good luck to you.
Michelle

Many peeps have received referals post 3/5/03, and as of today the word is some post 3/5 families have exited PGN which is a HUGE relief.

The referal time depends upon the agency. Mine is immediate for a boy.

I will be responsible and point out that the US embassy has asked PGN to be lenient (spelling?) with their definition of "registration" and the families exiting PGN may be those that fall into the gray area of pre/post 3/5 registration. We haven't heard definite details of these cases yet.

You can read more about it at Ethica's web site. Sorry, someone else will have to post the web site addy for you which I'm sure someone will do shortly. I know it's NOT ethica.org, but can't find it right now. *argghhh*

There are many who have accepted post 3/5 referrals. Your wait will depend upon the agency you choose to work with for your adoption. Typically, the wait for a boy is shorter than the wait for a girl.

You really need to decide upon the best agency to use for your adoption, and go from there.

Good Luck!

Another good photolisting (for those of you who are interested) is http://www.rainbowkids.com. It's an internet "magazine" with monthly features that I found very interesting and informative. "Back issues" are also available.

I remember spending **hours** on both rainbowkids and precious.org just looking and looking at all those beautiful children. It really did help me pass the 'waiting time'!
