Consulate info?? Sending papers?
Hi
Just wondering about those of you that have sent and received your papers back from the consulate's office. I was advised not to use the PO. I called UPS and they said that I could include a prepaid envelope for the paper's return but the Consular would have to drop it off or have UPS pick it up. Will they do this? Just wondering your experiences. I have about 4 different Consulates to send info to. Thanks Denise |

That is exactly how I did it. I included a prepaid UPS next day air envelope and got all of my documents back (or sent directly to my agency) within days. It's a great way to do it. I am sure that the consulates have regular UPS delivery (always folks like us sending them packages to be authenticated!!!)

I have done the same thing only with a FedEx account. It has been great. We don't have much control over anything in this process, but with this account at least I know FOR SURE that something was received or when something has been sent to me, I know exactly when to look for it.

I used the PO with over night delivery and included an prepaid overnight delivery return envelope to both NYC and DC consulates with no problem. Both deliveries were on time, in fact PO even called me on a holiday to make sure I was home for a delivery.

I was just wondering about the enclosed express mailer you gave the consulate. Do they have to go to a PO to have the tracking number put in system? My local PO said they did so I wasn't sure if that would be inconvenient. Someone else said you could call for a pickup? Just curious. Denise |

I am not sure. I just enclosed the prepaid overnight envelope along with my doc and a cover letter. The embassy put it in the mail the Saturday the PO tried to deliver it on Sunday. I wasn't home so they called me early Monday morning(as it was holiday and wanted to be sure I was home). This was the consulate in NYC. They did not seem to have a problem. Hope this helps SusanK PS. It was also less expensive than the other carriers.
