Dossier Doctor letters for siblings?
Hello-
Did any of you need a letter from the doctor for your children ? We just need one for my DH and I. We have a four year old son and I would rather get it now than later. Thanks, Sue Early stages |

Doctors Letters
Don't get your doctor's letters too soon as we made that mistake and they expired so we had to have a second exam and new letters prepared, notarized, verified, and authenticated.

I have a 9 year old daughter. My agency required me to get a notarized/certified letter from my daughters doctor stating that she was current on her immuzations, free from diseases, and generally healthly. The agency said this wasn't required but was sometimes asked for and they would rather we have it prepared up front.

that's another thing...our letter from the doctor doesn't need to say anything about HIV negative, although I know a friend who was just told to have hers re-done. Anyone else need to say HIV neg?? Mine just says "free from communicable diseases".

We didn't have to have anything on file for our son at all. The homestudy SW did talk with him briefly and the results of that "interview" were included in the final homestudy document but other than that---no doctor's visits, immunization records or anything.

Hi! We did have to get a Dr. letter (dossier)for our son Alex which stated something about him being in good health and it had to state that he was up to date on his vaccinations, etc. Our agency also required that me and my dh have a physical and a 2 page form had to be filled out with VDRL testing done, TB testing, EKG (over 30), urinanalysis etc. I was told this was a NY state requirement-but I have had other people who used agencies in NY say that they did not have to do this. (I don't live in NY but used an agency in NY).

This is fascinating...!
Does anyone else find it amazing--all the different steps we take to make the same journey? I am vastly interested in how everyone's process can be so, so different when we're all going to the same country!

How long
Sue
We had a regular doctors appt so we went ahead and got him to do the tests and the physical that was requried per a list that was given to us by the social worker for the homestudy. After that, about a month, we learned that the doctors report for the dossier cannot be more than 3-months old so we had to go back and have everything done again and all of the letters regenerated. The initial one was good for the homestudy but expired for the dossier. Kesti Last edited by Kesti : 04-17-2003 at 12:20 PM. |
