Can someone please tell me how close the Marriott is to the Clarion. Our agency recommends the Clarion, but we have a friend who will be visiting at the same time staying at the Clarion.
Thanx. |

They are not that close (at least not walking distance). When leaving the airport you pass the Marriott first on your way to the Clarion. I would say they are at least 5 minutes by taxi (and the taxis drive very fast!!!).
Have fun!

Here is a list of the hotels in Guatemala and their addresses.
List of Guatemala Hotels If you look up the addresses of these hotels you can look at this map to figure out the approximate distance. Guatemala City Map Last edited by Kesti : 04-15-2003 at 09:07 PM. |

clarion
One nice thing about the Clarion is that all of the rooms are suites. We found this to be exremely convenient when we wanted to put the baby to bed, gently close the doors and watch TV in the lounge. Also, the butler service for the adoptive parents is great and they have happy hour every evening at 5 pm for adopting parents. I think the rate for adopting parents is about $113/night. Good luck. Look at Kesti's post which has a map of the hotels and a map of the city. I for one will be hotel hopping and find them both a HUGE help!!! Can't wait to meet all my adoption peeps !!!!! ![]() Thanks Kesti!!! <>Steph

Hello....
We stayed at the Marriott each time we went to visit. The last time we left the hotel and walked to the Radisson, Clarion, and Westin hotels. We wanted to see what they were like and how they compared to the Marriott. The other hotels were a few blocks away from the Marriott and we had no difficulty walking between them. Crossing the busy streets was tough but it actually was great to get out of the hotel and walk around a bit! Diane |

I've stayed at both. The only thing that is nicer about the Clarion is the rooms are alot bigger and they are a little cheaper. The Marriott has more restaurants and more places to be outside and alot more adopting families. (a pool too) But the clarion is nice and has great customer service.
If you decide to stay there and want to go to the marriott, A cab driver named Edwin works at the Clarion. He is the sweetest guy and speaks English. Ask the front desk to call him for you. have a great trip. When are you going? |
