Agency has not returned phone calls

I called just to find out 'if anything new is happening' the first week of March and again today (first week of April). I have left messages to have them return my calls. No one called back last month. I figured they were too busy. I called back today, the receptionist said that the social worker was unavailable and would return my call - no call back. I cannot tell you how discouraging this is. (the agency has always returned calls in the past) I am very worried.

Keep calling them............

What type of message are you leaving?I try to keep mine short and to the point."Hi, this is ___________ please return my call at____________, thankyou".

If they still do not call you back in 2 days you call them back. I am learning you need to be your own best advocate.

Good luck! Chris

my thoughts...

i would NEVER go through an agency that required this much money before placement.
I also would never deal with an agency that had a "NO REFUND" policy.
There are so many agencies that will work with you, and do not require tons of money before placement.
if you pay alot of money before placemen, you are "bound" to that agency, and cant search anywhere else.
we are going through our second adoption. with our first, no money was paid until the baby was in our arms.
with this second adoption, we have paid no money up front, and wont until our baby is in our arms. you can too.

thanks
ginny

Adoption Agency

Hello! I'm new to this...I hope I do it right! Since you are talking about adoption agencies I thought I'd ask about Harrah Family Services (Spring, TX). Has anyoone heard of them or used them? We are going to adopt from China, and are searching for a reputable agency that also keeps their fees reasonable. I'd appreciate any info. Thanks!
