***SCAM ALERT***

Please be aware of a very recent scam. Here is the info we have collected:
This "bmom" comes across as the sweetest, kindest, most Christian person you will ever talk to. She also speaks very intelligently and seems to be a great mom to her already born children.
She is seeking out families in online chat rooms, IM, ICQ, and claims a friend recommended she talk to you in particular, to give herself credibility.
She uses name Jessica, Jessy, JJ, Jasmine, Samantha, Curious and others and has multiple emails.
She claims to be in FL or NV. She is actually in FL, verified by calling her number, area code 407.
Phone is actually registered to a different person in Orlando, she claims to be in Haines City.
Bmom is a heavy set redhead, bdad is Puerto Rican. Claims to have 4 children she is raising, and one she previously placed.
Has two girls, by a previous marriage, both reddish blondes. Also has two sons, Cauc/PR by current boyfriend. Youngest is 9 months old.
Has claimed to be due in Nov and Dec, with either a boy or girl, changes.
Sends u/s pics, pics of belly, and pics of her kids very willingly
She claims to get help from her "Gramma"
Claims to have sent the kids to her Gramma in NY for remainder of pregnancy
States she is on bedrest and cannot work, and boyfriend is working at a minimum wage job for a contractor on Disney site. Claims cannot get on WIC for at least 3 months.
Claims to be very poor, will refuse financial assistance, then calls with sad stories of being evicted and not having any food to eat--which of course is not good for the baby, but has a computer, video cam, digital camera, etc. even though cannot pay utility bills or buy groceries.
She tells a lot of stories that when verified are not true, for example claims to have put 4 babies on a plane to send to her grandma unescorted, and the very airline she claims to have used denies it and states an absolute requirement of age 5 and above, her supposed children are all under 5.
She is very willing to match quickly, claims to have been mistreated by several adoptive families in the past and is just wanting a family. Does want open adoption with visits.
Not interested in details about adoptive family, does not care if they have "blue dots", her words. Wants adoptive mom in delivery room and at hospital with her until release.
Wants to spend hours on the phone or online talking, especially at night, which supports the theory that scammers do this for attention. Also has the bdad and the gramma talk to you on the phone.
Has "matched" with at least 4 families this week, who have compared notes and sadly discovered what is going on.
Claims to have had a bad experience with an agency for her last placement so does not want to use an agency. May be scamming agencies too, currently checking on that. States she would prefer to come to the adoptive family to deliver.

Bottom line, she may or may not be pregnant, but she is up to no good either way. Matching on line is possible, but very risky. Those of us who have compared notes suspect she was setting the stage to start asking us all for money. We caught her early, but there may be others out there who do not know yet that she is up to all this.

If you do meet a bmom on line, get proof of pregnancy FROM HER DR, not by her sending an u/s, all scammers send u/s pics, they are too easy to get. Do not send money directly, go through an agency or attorney. Use your brain and a critical eye when looking at these situations. We all want to adopt so badly, we hope for the best. Unfortunately online there is a great opportunity for others to deceive us. We have to keep our eyes wide open.
