Looking To Adopt

I know a couple people that have adopted, but their situations were not average... I was thinking the first thing we want to do is to check out a few agencies, & also meet with a lawyer or 2, to see which way we want to go, but when I got ready to call a lawyer, it occured to me; do attorneys only deal with you (us) if we actually KNOW a person or of a person who is pregnant & planning to put the baby up for adoption? Or does an attorney help with finding a possible baby to adopt? I am pretty lost right now as which way to start... Any advice would be very appreciated, feel free to email me at ttrek42@cs.com

In my state (Texas) it is illegal for a lawyer to facilitate a match between birthmothers and adoptive parents. I'm sure you can probably research on the web, and find out the answer. Hope this helps.
