Good evening,

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, and my situation. I'm not sure where to go other than maybe from an atty.


I'm 25 years old, and my girlfriend has 2 children. The youngest is biologically mine. The oldest I have raised since she was 3 1/2 months old. She's now three, and the youngest is 21 months.

I want to legally adopt the 3 year old. I treat her as though she's mine, and love her as much as I love my own child. She calls me daddy.

Her "sperm donor" for lack of a better term has had NOTHING (and I repeat NOTHING) to do with her since the day she was born. He's not paid a single dime, that I know of to child support. He's reguarally in jail for flagerant (felony) non-support for 3 of his children, and has rights and custody to at least one.

I want to know if you all have any experience, strength, and hope in regards to how, if possible, I can best handle this for the best results.
