New to Adoption in TX

Hi, My husband and I live in San Antonio, TX. We are just starting to look at adoption. We are interested in Hispanic or bi-racial adoption. Can anyone recommend a good agency or facilitator to work with? Is there a good place to get an independent homestudy from? Also any general information about domestic adoption in TX would be great! We would really appreciate any help you can give us!

Texas is a GREAT state to adopt through as they have wonderful laws for adoptive parents. I live in the midwest and have met a LOT of parents who travel to Texas to adopt b/c of the laws.
My husband and I traveled to Texas three different times to adopt my children. All of them are full Hispanic too - ages 6, 4, and 1.
There were a lot of things in Texas that are not always the case in other states - such as adoption friendly hospitals (we used 3 different hospitals in Austin and every single nurse was SO nice and supportive, adoptions open to everyone regardless of sexual preference, lots of adoption agencies to choose from, push for more open adoptions and the laws (mainly when the birthmom signs the relinquishment papers it's immediately recoginized by the court).
I'll pm you the agency we used.

Good luck researching!
