Heart Questions

Hi! I am new here and just have a couple questions. I know someone in Kentucky (I am in Texas) that wants to abort her child. She is about 4 months in the pregnancy and I have convinced her to place her child for adoption. What are the steps we need to do to make it legal when the time comes. As much information as I can get, from someone that really knows, would be awesome! I have been researching this topic in other forums and I just cant seem to get solid information so that we can get everything in order. Thanks so much for any help! Pamela

Each state is different; and each situation can be just as different!!
Best thing to do would be to contact an adoption attorney near you in TX and consult with him/her. I'd think you'd have to have the expectant mom retain an attorney in KY too. (I DO know that KY has very different adoption laws; This, I DO know.....)

That said, if you're wanting an idea of an adoption attorney in TX, consult with the
American Academy of Adoption attorneys website (Otherwise known as Quad A attorneys):

American Academy of Adoption Attorneys - Home

Click on your state and a list of members there will appear. Simply phone them and ask what their rates are, compare (they do vary in fees, let me tell you)....and set up a consultation.

Whenever you're dealing with two separate states, things can become more complex, of course, but it's still do-able.

I hope this helps and I wish you well in your adoption journey!

Sincerely,

Linny

Unhappy Update

The woman had an abortion at 20+ weeks. Thank you for your response.
