Putting your profile together?

Hey

I wanted to know what everyone used for their profile? Word, Hallmark scrapbook, Shutterfly, etc...???

I am trying to put our together and wanted some advice, I bought a the hallmark scrapbooking software, however, how the heck do you get professional copies if you have a black and white computer and if you can only do one page and then save it....wow I am so lost.

What have you all done??

I've heard of people using all different sorts of software, including all 3 of the titles you mentioned.

We wanted ours to be a little more "homemade", so we actually had a friend make a scrapbook type of document (using stickers and scrapbooking paper, etc.) and then we made color copies of that, bound them and put covers on them.

You can always take digital files of your project to your local Kinko's / UPS store / any copying place and have them print them out there on the laser color printers. It's expensive (ours were about $200-300 for 10 copies, I think), but they come out beautifully!

I'm not a scrapbooker, so we used MicroSoft Publisher for ours. I wanted ours to look like it was our's, so homemade was not the way to go for us. DH does a lot of marketing in his job and I was the school newspaper sponsor when I taught H.S.

Our profile cost about $10 per profile to publish at Kinko's.

Nope. We had ONE handmade book. We then made 10 color copies of the book. They came out pretty well, actually.

I just finished my portfolio and we used the picaboo.com software. We used the first page of the book as our birthmother letter. We were very impressed by the selections you could use and the book is only $30 and ships in 3 days.

We used shuterfly. There are text options for the pages. There are like 50 different layouts! And, you can modify them all. It is free, so just upload some pics and start playing!

best of luck!
