Homestudy

Hi there

We are having our first part of our homestudy tomorrow at our house. I am wondering if anyone could please give me some idea of what to expect as far as the questions.....all of a sudden I am very nervous.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

It's been awhile, so I don't remember a lot of the questions, especially for the first homestudy. I know we were asked about our intimate life, how we handle arguments, what we felt our discipline policy would be, why we wanted to adopt, why we wanted to be parents. Those are just a few I remember.

The best advice, that is hard to do, but try to just relax and be yourself! Good luck!

On our home visit, we didn't get any questions that were much different than the ones that were asked on our autobiographies. It was harder (for me) to answer in person, but ours was very relaxed overall.

ETA: I do remember being asked questions about how we thought raising an adopted child would be different than raising a biological child. We were also asked about discipline, each other, our relationship, our parenting skills/styles, what we thought of each other's parenting skills/styles, etc.
