Include children on front of profile book?

Sorry to bug you all yet again with a profile book question, can you tell what I'm obsessing about lately?

I decided to go with making our book with Picaboo, their prices are really quite reasonable, and it looks fairly simple. Anyway, the one I'll be doing has the die-cut front cover, so you can see a picture through the cut-out. I can't decide whether or not to put a picture of just DH and I, or a family picture, including our daughters. I don't want to not include them, and have the e-parents think "why didn't they put a picture of the whole family?", but then I also don't want to turn someone off potentially.

Chroma, I would say ABSOLUTELY include your children. I think if I were an emom, I would find it "strange" if you didn't. This is the family that the baby will come to (and i'm sure your children will be great "selling points"!). GOOD LUCK!!!

Include the Kids!

If your agency is anything like mine, they will only present you to situations that you "fit". therefore, you will probably only be shown to eparents that want a family that has children! I am sure that they will appreciate the love and life that you share with the children that you have, and will be able to invision their baby right there with you! In fact, a friend of mine said one of the main reasons that they were chosen for their second adoption was that the emom loved all the pics of their son being loved on and spoiled by the whole family! She thoguht he looked like the happiest baby, and wanted her daughter to be treated the same way!

Good Luck! We used shutterfly, and the book really worked!

I agree. I never thought to not include our kids on the cover...

The expectant parents are either going to want their children to be part of a large family or they are not. You will likely only be shown to those willing to consider to place with other children in the house. So, not including them may seem suspicious or weird.

I would say use the best pic of all of you together that you can find. Your e-mom may choose you because she sees how happy you are together. Love multiplies, the more you have together, the more you have to give right??

pictures

My SW asked me to redo my book cover and include only a pic on myself ( single mom adoption ) Families with children are alos asked to have a the couple on the 1st page- kids later. That's their preference...so I would consult with your agency to find out what works for them....just so you aren't out the costs

My first instinct was a picture of the whole family, but then I saw a lot of profiles online (trying to get ideas), and some had just the couple first, then the children later. With some of them, I didn't even realize they had children until later when I was glancing down and was like "who is that kid?" and had to go back and read. So I thought maybe there was some preference for not having the children in the first picture.

-We're not really going with an agency, using referral services, so I guess it's really up to us how we want the profile book to look.
