Adoption Questions

My husband and I are considering adoption but I have a lot of questions about the process.

My biggest concern is if the social worker will have issues because we are a vegetarian, homeschooling family. I am wondering if that will present a problem with adopting a child. To me it seems sad that I would have to worry but I have found that in general people aren't very accepting of others who are different so I'm wondering if we will even be able to adopt.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Most sw are very open to what your family life is like. Agencies will be too if and when you find the right one for your family. The questions are such a ride range. When it comes down to it, it is what is a pbmom looking for in a family that might potentially raise their baby.

I agree with Denice. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I know that's easier said than done. Each expectant mother considering placing her child has different ideas of what life they want for their child.

With my oldest son, we were chosen because (1) I am a stay-at-home-Mom and (2) we had dogs. My second son, we were chosen because she wanted him to have a brother 3 years older than him with about the same color skin. They are 3 years and 3 weeks apart.

I highly doubt that it will be an issue on your homestudy. I think that if you are doing domestic adoption, it might appeal to some families and be a deterrent to others (some families like some things and others like other things).
