agencie question

hello. I have almost completed my homestudy. I was wondering if I can put in applications with more than one agency or if I have to be commited to one agency at a time. If I find two agencies who don't require a fee until the child is placed can I pay the app fee for both and whoever finds a child for me first then go with that. Or do most companies have a contract or clause where I have to stay with them for like a year or something.

Many agencies allow you to work with as many agencies as you want. Just remember to keep them updated when you get matched and/or placed through another agency.

It's been our experience that most agencies encourage you to work with more than one entity at a time. We work with an agency (who did our homestudy) and several attorneys (in and out of state)....some of which network with other attorneys/agencies, and some who also have their own agency as well.

I wouldn't work with an agency that required I only worked solely with them; as I wouldn't work with an agency that asked for big fees up front, or a chance at losing 'match money' with any situation----even if they make that 'roll over policy' (what a joke)!

I hope this helps in some way.......

Sincerely,

Linny

That is interesting that many will allow more than working with one agency. One we checked into did, but the one we went with did not allow it. I will have to look into it more next time!
If you do find one that will let you work with more than one, that could be good. Our agency went through a terrible slump when they were not even getting a single phone call for months.
