Question New to Adoption

Hi everyone. I am new to the "adoption world". My dh and I have been struggling with infertility for 2 yrs now. Not long compared to some, but seems like forever to us. We are still young. I'll be 27, and he'll be 28. About a month ago, we decided to not proceed with any fertility treatments until after the 1st of the year. I began excepting my life childless. About a week ago, one of my friends called me to let me know she had been approached by a girl who is 4 monthes pregnant. My friend had adopted a little girl about 2 1/2 yrs ago. This young girl (she's 19) wanted to know if my friend wanted her baby. Unfortunetly for my friend, she said no. Their families are too close of friends. Anyway, she called me to ask if my husband and i would be interested. OF COURSE!!! I talked to my friend and told her to let the girl know about me, and to have her call me when she felt comfortable. That same night she called!! I was so excited. I have talked to her about four times on the phone, and my dh and i met her for supper the other night. as of right now, she seems to want us to adopt her baby. We still though are very cautious. I contacted a private adoption investigator to do our homestudy, and we will be contacting a lawyer in the next few days. My emotions are all of the place. i'm excited, but hesitate. She would like me to go with her to her doctors appt this week. at supper she shared with us her ultrasound pic of the baby. and she even mentioned having us in the delivery room. She seems to be a fairly street smart girl. She knows that she cannot afford to keep this baby, and that the best thing for her to do is give it to us. She already has a 2 yr old, and lives with her mom. She graduated from high school, but has quit college a few times already, and just started a new job a few weeks ago, but has already missed 2 days that i know of. Does anyone have any advice for us??? We definetly know how lucky we are to be in this situation, and we want to make sure that the birthmother keeps her confindence in us. What is the next step???
