Any recommendations for a reputable (obviously!) adoption lawyer in NYC? After over a year and numerous procedures trying to have a baby, we are now looking into this option and are completely clueless as to where to begin.

EDITED TO REMOVE FEE BASED ADOPTION DISCUSSION

My DH and I met him once and never heard from him again. We dealt strictly with his coordinator who handled all the advertisements, contact with potential birthmothers, etc. After about $15,000. and not a single bite on our ads, we decided to pursue other options. We are not made of money, after all...He never even called or sent a letter asking why we stopped trying to adopt, or stopped working with him, etc.

Very unprofessional if you ask me.

In the end we chose surrogacy and I am the proud mother of twins! Good luck

Oh my God - how scary. That is one of my biggest fears. After going through all the infertility disappointment to have that happen is just devestating. Thank you for giving me the heads up. I will definitely keep his name on file with a big fat "NO" next to it. Someone recommended REMOVED LAWYER NAME (I think that's how you spell it) - I might give her a call.
