Hi,
I am a single woman aged 45 who is considering adopting a child internationally. I am also a breast cancer survivor. I am not yet out of the 5 year mark from diagnosis. Doe s anyone know if that would block me from adopting? What kind of health surveys do they do on prospective parents before you are accepted? Thanks so much. |

adoption with cancer
My husband got testicular cancer last year and was told by our agency that China requires 5 years clear of cancer, except in the case of breast cancer for women, in which case the timeline is shorter, though I don't know how much. We are now starting all over, and have found that African countries are more open than most- try Ethiopia, they seem to have more relaxed rules, for both cancer and single parents. Good luck!
