Hello Everyone,

My husband and I are about to start the adoption process and have learned that it's crucial that we get our homestudy started right away. However, we haven't decided which agency we want to use.

I would like to know whether or not most agencies will accept a homestudy that wasn't completed by their agency if it was completed by a licensed agency.

From the few agencies I talked to, some would, some would not. However, the agencies that would accept a completed home study required a home visit by their social worker. You had to pay a portion of the home study cost. So, it would have cost more if we had gone that way. If you have it narrowed down to a few agencies, I would advise calling them and asking what their policy is.
