Saran-
This weekend at the beach sounds like such a meaningful way to embark on your path. I'm happy for you and the whirlwind of activity and anticipation. Good luck with your birthmother letter, the very idea of attempting my own fills me with trepidation. Good deal to have narrowed your agency/law center down to 2. Hope the US is treating you well, it is really a beautiful place. I'm a lil' biased tho.

Yash-
It's funny that your "girl" was always a "boy". I relate so much. My future child has been every sex, race, age, member of a sibling group, and from every country. Me and the fella have agreed to "try" to wait a year, save and see where we are then. He's so practical, I think I'll marry him!

Tink,

You gotta love those rational, practical guys. They keep your feet on the ground as we try to fly off to adoption heaven.

Good morning!

Last evening I had to post on the general adoptive board due to the higher traffic. I was looking or any suggestion re: I just found out that CPS is investigating my brothers family for alleged abuse. It is likely, and due to the parents history the children may be taken. I needed suggestions for my next step, because I want the kids to come to my house if removed. This is so crappy, I did not expect this turn of event.

Wish us luck- Tink

Tink - I am in the process of trying to adopt a friend's niece who was taken by the state a year ago. Her permanency hearing was yesterday to choose a family for her. I have no news yet. Anyway, back to your situation, I would contact your local Department of Social Services immediately and see what you can do and what needs to be done. They have not taken the children yet? The sooner you get the ball rolling the better.

Thanks Athena-
No, the kids have not been taken, but honestly, it looks like it is just a matter of time. I found the cw today & was able to talk w/ her. Let her know that if anything happens I want the girls w/ me. She really didn't say anything, but I didn't expect it either. She just took notes, my name & # which she said she would add to the file, and also may call me w/ questions. She acted busy & distracted. I'll call again on Monday too, to ask if I can do anything else.
You must be on pins and needles waiting for your news. Best of luck with the adoption. I hope you hear something soon. Thank you.

Tink Tink-

I work in the social work field and just wanted to tell you don't stop calling the CW. I'm not sure which state you live in, but here, the CW's are ALWAYS busy and distracted. If you can find out who the child's child advocate (attorney) is, then call them and they can help you!

Good luck
