Hi all~
Just amazed at all I have seen here already. I cannot believe I told my husband I'd be to bed in a few minutes THREE HOURS AGO! LOL! I have never done this before....just finally stepped into the present and got a computer for home! I am excited to chat with others in our same situations. I am 29 husband is 30 and we do not have any children and will never have bio children. Which just seemed to be God's plan so we've accepted that and are excited now that adoption is an option for us! We were recently matched with a bmom in Utah but it fell through, so we are back to square one. Just wasn't meant to be. Anyway hope to chat w/ you all very soon! I played the "person below me" game. That was fun. Best to you all in your adoption journeys....past...present and future!

Hi!
It sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I just joined and am sooo addicted!!! I am 30 and my husband is 32 and we will never have biological children either. I feel the same way you do about adoption.... "Which just seemed to be God's plan so we've accepted that and are excited now that adoption is an option for us!" We are waiting to be matched and are so excited to become parents!!! I have been reading these posts now for a few weeks and decided to take the plunge and join. I have NEVER done anything like this before, I usually just rely on my husband/friends/family for support, but other than my husband, I feel like no one that I know really understands what I am going through (although they are still very supportive!). Anyways, I have found it very helpful to have this forum to come to for support!!! Are you guys working with an agency?? We are in the domestic program with a local agency. Nice chatting with you and Good Luck!!!

Welcome!! I am 47, single (divorced), not able to have bio children and in the process of adopting one of my foster sons. I will also adopt his brother later on down the road. I will then adopt a baby. These forums can be supportive when no one else understands us.

Thank you all for responding...this is wonderful to have folks to chat with. I am excited to talk to each of you more as time goes by! Please bear w/ me on all of this...I am so new I am not really even sure how all this works.....LOL! I had to edit this reply b/c I was going to relpy to each of you individually, but I suppose I cannot!? Anyway....
I wonder if they have support grps for those becoming addicted to these forums!? LOL! I am so so excited to have had someone reply. Yes we are working with a local agency as well here in PA. Looking forward to sharing more about our journies....it is so draining at times. Yes our family too has been so super supportive, and they really try to understand, but sometimes they just don't. My sister has been on this roller coaster with us. She is so excited to have a niece or nephew that can play w/ her little boy. We had one match that fell through already and that was certainly a rough road to travel, but we are getting through that. (It was just last week!) Hope to talk to you again. Take care and have a beautiful day. It is so pretty here today...albeit a bit chilly. Talk to you soon....

Irish and hopefulamom - I've noticed your posts recently and wanted to say welcome. These forums are the BIGGEST lifesaver! They were the only support we had (aside from family who didn't really know what we're going through) except one other couple who was working w/ our agency at the same time.
Any time you have questions or need to vent or just want kind words - PM us or start a thread. You'll feel better in no time! I wish you both speedy and positive journeys!

Storkwatcher,
Thank you for your kind words/support!!! It is so nice to talk to people that truly understand. Every time I talk to my mom/best friend I feel that I have to explain everything so carefully so they won't misinterpret!!! Here, I know that in some form or another, they understand!! Thanks again

Welcome to the boards! You will be here way more than you ever thought! I wasn't lucky enough to find the boards before our adoption but when I did it has proven to be helpful and quite and addiction! LOL

Congratulations. We are on the downslide thank goodness. We should finalize in the next 4 weeks. It has been a long journey but well worth the wait and fears. We had brought home twins prior to our adoption and 1 week later the bmom wanted them back. It was devastating but God had a plan for us and now we have a beautiful 10 month old that is really who we were meant to be with.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself, too. I'm Jen, 28 y/o, and I'm also new to the board. I was previously a member of a pregnancy board, and it is incredibly addicting!
I have 1 biological child, but had some major complications along with that, so DH and I have decided that adoption is the way for us to go now. We have decided to go the international route and are considering a few different countries. We have been researching it for a few months and are planning to register with a local agency soon. In the meantime, I'm trying to learn as much as I can from all of you! It's nice to "meet" everyone. |

Hi Jen,
Nice to "meet" you, too!!! It sounds like all of us "newbies" are sooo addicted! Good luck with your journey, it seems like you can really learn a lot on these boards!!!!! I'm doing a domestic adoption, so I can't offer any advice on international, but I'm always here for advice/support!
