I posted elsewhere, but it's worth repeating since no one else is piping up.

My husband and I are about to "go active" with American Adoptions. While I can't attest to the actual adoption process through them -- and I'd love to hear from someone who can -- thus far they have been really great. Everyone we've dealt with has treated us with respect and patience and sensitivity. They're great about making sure we're clear on what we need to do, which is great, because I'm terrible with paperwork. We have both an adoption case worker and a home study case worker, and both have been wonderful. They seem very committed to making sure everyone is comfortable with their situations and options.
