Decided on adoption agency
My dh and I have finally decided what adoption agency we want to be with. They are very down to earth, are very interested that we will consider siblings and are quite happy about us being christians. As our home is a two bedroomed bungalow we have also stated it would have to be same sex siblings for obvious reasons
. Although they don't hang around about getting everything dealt with they are thorough as well to make sure that children are put first and go to loving homes. It's also a well established charitable adoption agency with a very good reputation. They know I am an original mother so that also goes in my favour as I will be prepared for the child/children wanting to search ... my husband will be a great support as well. Now all we need to do is get the process started so we can hopefully adopt if all goes well.Pip ![]() |

Good luck, Pip! I know you've probably had an especially hard time with this path and I hope the right kid(s) find you soon!

That is really appreciated as at times we have been questioned if we are going for adoption for the right reasons by friends and family. We have also had to suffer insenstive remarks and questions which many (adoptive...yucky term
) parents have gone through. The worst came from my own mother some time ago...she asked "Why do you want to adopt instead of having your own?" This came from the woman who was adament my only child was to be adopted . Strange how it was okay for my child to be adopted but she has to question why I should want to adopt . My dh has suffered snide remarks about his inability to father a child by his brother's wife which hurt obviously. She doesn't know the reason why we haven't had our own children nor we will tell her as she'll love that. It is to do with my dh although it isn't impossible for us to still have our own. Even if we did we still want to adopt as we can provide a loving, stable for a child or children. Pip ![]() |

I think you're especially blessed to be able to see/empathize with more than one side of adoption. Other children can never make up for the one you lost or the ones you may never have but the experience of being someone's everyday parent, no matter how it comes, is so rewarding.

congrats-I think for many this is such a big step. finding an agency that you're comfortable with is really important. it's good they value your perspective too.
I hope it all moves quickly and smoothly for you .
