This is my first (of many, I hope) post and I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Annette, 28 year old stay-at-home mom in Michigan (hence the name). I've been married to my husband Don for over 7 years and we have a 2.5 year old little girl named Shanley - she'll be 3 right after Thanksgiving.

We have decided that we want to adopt our next/last child - so here I am. I've been doing some research over almost ever topic so I may have a lot of questions to ask! But, for now, I'd like to say Hello and Good Luck to all who are starting/in the process.

Welcome. Good luck in the process. My husband and I adopted a little boy at birth through a private agency and were just placed a month ago with a little girl (2) through the state foster care program for the purposes of adoption. We hope to finalize her adoption before year end. Ask away with any questions that you have.

always glad to see new cyberfaces . I found these boards to be so helpful when I began our journey and they are still helping me. they're also addictive-just a warning .

dh and I (old folks at age 44) adopted our daughter last july (14 months old and our first) and are hoping to finalize before december 31st of this year. we did an agency domestic adoption (very open) with a facilitator. we're hoping to move on with adoption number two as soon as we can get number one finalized (state of CA takes its time-ugh!). I'm now a sahm too.
