First social worker meeting done
Hi all. Just wanted to introduce myself really! Hubby & I have been to the introduction evening (3-odd weeks ago), & completed the application form. We both found the introduction evening very informative, & had our first introductory meeting at home with a social worker, just last night. We got on well with her, but she told us the 'good news' that she won't be our alllocated social worker, as she is moving to post-adoption support. ****! Although we both liked her, she was watching & analysing our every word! I expected this totally as I have read a few comments about this on these boards. Worse is to come I know! God only knows what another social worker might be like! It grieves me really; all we want to do is to give some poor child a decent home & the stability we all need as a child. We can't have our own, but the idea of adoption has always appealed to me regardless. We're both almost 40, & no other children are involved.
I have to say that I found the news that we'll have both our life stories analysed & written in a book to keep, quite funny! Am I being cynical?? It's not funny really though is it? Best regards all Looking forward to getting to know you folks |
