I'm new and from NH-needing support
Hi everyone,
My husband and I live in NH and started the adoption process in October. We finally were put on the waiting list by our agency in April and now are just waiting. I thought the interviews and homestudy was rough, the waiting seems to be even worse sometimes. I've been looking for support groups in our area and keep running into dead ends. Does anyone know of any in Southern NH? Hoping to hear from someone! :-) Alicia |

Hello!
I don't know of any support groups in your area, but we are here to support you! I know the waiting time can be rough. It seems you are so busy at first with the list of things (fingerprints, physicals, home study, ect) that once you are in the waiting stage - everything stops. The best advice I can give you from a person who's been there is...keep busy. Read adoption books or magazines, exercise, take long walks, make interesting recipes, get the child's room ready...whatever you are interested in - do it now. Do you have other children, or is this your first child? Can your agency recommend any support groups in your area? Maybe you need to start one of your own. These are just some ideas! The biggest thing right now is pamper yourself. Once that little one comes into your home, your time and energy will be spent on him/her. Blessings to you and your family!
