HI,

We may have a possible match with a potential bmom in Wisconsin. She and I just talked for the first time on the phone last night. She's in WI and we're in IL. I plan on calling our agency and attorney here in IL, but does anyone know how long consent period is in WI before taking baby home?

Katieb! I have a rather fortunate situation, my husband and I were contacted by a birth mother through family members of ours. We are going through the adoption process. We are in IN birth mom is in WI. This is a private adoption we were working with an attorney and the birth mom. We are so nervous and so scared and excited all at the same time. We are working with catholic charaties locally to us to complete our part but we were informed that birth mom would have to work with catholic charaties as well to make sure she realizes what she is doing and to complete her part of the paper work. I saw in your post that the birth mom has to terminate her rights in front of a judge what other than that would she have to do as far as paper work.

Any advice you have I would greatly appreciate!
