Some Newbie Questions

I spoke with the guardian in litem today about the child I am trying to adopt. She said that the mother is trying to appeal the parental termination rights decision. How long can this appeal take? She also told me to bother my adoption SW to complete my homestudy and etc. Is this right? I have been consistent with the SW and I really want this child but should you call the SW every week to "stay current in her mind"? Once you start a homestudy with the state, how long does it normally take to complete it?

I don't know the answer to your questions but I think it probably depends on the state. I know some people who might be able to help you. I'll PM you.
Sorry I couldn't help and good luck.
Blessings,
Melissa

Hi everybody, I finally have some great news! Our Bmom is in labor right now!!! We are flying to PA tonight and hopefully going to see our new son in the morning! Please say a prayer that this finally works out the way it is supposed too. I think it will but we deffinately need a few extra prayers. I'll let you all know.

That is wonderful news!!!! Please let us know how things go. I will say a prayer that this baby will be permanently in your arms soon.
