Parents Profiles.com
Hello,
Have any of you used or are using Parents Profiles.com to connect with a birth mother? The cost seems high, but if the leads are good, it could be worth it. I would love to hear your experiences with this networking tool. Thanks, Dee

Hi Dee, I don't know if you received any PM's about this, I would love to know what you found out. PM if you get a chance. I think the price is higher than I would of thought, but like many other things, when people are vunerable others will take advantage of it. Best Wishes. Eleni

I too would love to know how Parent Profiles have helped others in their adoptions. We are in the process of designing our profile and also wondered if the benefits outweighed the costs. Please PM me about the feedback you get.
Thanks a bunch-

in the spirit of disclosure...
back before the book and this board, when we were in our adoption process 5 years ago, we posted our letter there with terrific results. it was expensive then (about $500), but turned out to be well worth it. The landscape of the internet has changed in that time, however, as has their pricing I'm sure. so perhaps the best feedback i can offer is to go through the same evaluative process that we went through at that time: pretend you are an expectant parent looking to make an adoption plan and using the internet to do so. Visit the various search engine, search for things like "adoption" or "adoptive parents" or "adopting out my baby" or things like that and see what sites come up most frequently. Those on the first page of results are more likely to get the most traffic.
Also click around on the registry sites as if you were an expectant parent. if the navigation easy and quick? is the interface clear and friendly? does the layout present PAPs in a way you would want to be presented? Finally, ask sites that you are considering putting your letter on for their metrics. Metrics are the Neilson rating of the internet, a log of how many hits and visitors a site gets every month. the numbres are easily fudged and not relieable, but they'll give you some additional information about the site. Hope this is some help. Best of Luck.

I too would love some PM's on Parent Profiles.com. I've visited their site numerous time. Each time I want so bad to register, but hesitate.
We're signed with an adoption agency in NC, as well as on a list with DSS. Things just aren't progressing like I feel they should be. Maybe we're too picky, but gesh! PLEASE I want to learn if PP.com helped and if it's worth the $$$. Thanks, Tonya ![]()

Hey Nelson...
I bought your book for our second adoption. It was a great book. We were matched in 1 month and he was born 7 weeks later..... ![]()
