Looking for e-pals
Hello!
I am in the waiting phase of the adoption process. We just sent in our parent profile to our agency recently. We are now waiting to be matched. The waiting is alot harder than I thought it would be. It would be nice to talk with other hopeful adoptive parents. If anyone is interested in talking, you can PM me anytime. Suzette |

Waiting too
I thought all the classes and paperwork were difficult, but this waiting thing is tough. All I think about is what our child will look like and what I'll be doing when that phone call comes. We are a concurrent planning family (fost/adopt) and had our homestudy approved just before Thanksgiving. We've been waiting a month now and I wonder how much longer it will be. Our adoptions social worker said that everyone is on a list in the computer and the families that have been waiting the longest are at the top. I wish that I knew how many names there are in the computer. We figured that we had a better chance at getting a child sooner if we went through Social Services.

HI!
We are also foster parents. We have been for 2 years now. What age child are you hoping to adopt? We live in a small town, so there aren't alot of children available for adoption. But, I have heard alot of success stories with fost/adopt. Especially if you live in a bigger town. We decided to go with an agency for now. And stay on the fost/adopt list, hoping to adopt through them in the future. Do you think you could ask how many families are on the list? I did that when we first became foster parents, and our social worker showed me the list. She told me that one couple had just adopted twin babies a week before we were on the list. We ended up foster parenting a 3 year old boy, and a 5 year old girl. They ended up going home with their parents. But, we knew ahead of time that they would . Then, we decide to do only fost/adopt. It was hard getting attached to the kids, and then having them leave. Good luck! I hope you get a call soon. It will happen! Keep me posted. Take care! Suzette |

Hi I am also " In waiting" ! We have a homestudy and have been hoping to foster/adopt. the wait is just so long! We were very specific with the age and sex of the child but had no idea it would take so long! I am so frustrated with the social worker!Wish I had known it was going to be like this! Not what we expected! Jocelyn

Hi guys! The waiting is a hard part...probably the hardest part right now. I have been there and hopefully will be there again, as weird as that sounds. We'll probably adopt again in the next couple of years.
I wanted to invite you here if you would like to share your journey with a smaller group. We are a loving, helpful group who are always looking for more members to support! You're welcome to join. You can only view at this point if you are not an ezboard member. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you. I hope you adoption journeys continue and that your forever babies find you very soon. Many blessings |

Hi Suzette,
My husband and I are also in the waiting stages - this is actually my 1st post. We actually had a failed placement a few weeks ago and now the waiting is harder than before. it's weird, but before we got matched with a birthmom, the waiting was not bad. We had our homestudy in June and it was approved in less than a week. In mid-August the agency called and said that a birthmom wanted to meet with us. Her due date was Aug 24. She said she never even thought about parenting. Well, she went into labor 2 days early and decided to parent. While I am still sad that Alexander didn't get to come home with us, I am happy that he gets to be with his birthmom. Anyway, I understand what you are going through. I hope things work out for you soon! Sarah |
