Hello Everyone,
My husband and I are desperately looking to adopt a healthy African-American or bi-racial infant(s). What is the site or resource that you would recommend we use? In other words, what are some of the more popular resources on which we can place our information for birthmothers to see? Any advice anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

I suggest talking to everyone you know and if its legal in your state leave your letters at doctors offices and if they will let you.

Good thread
sorry to disagree, Brandy, but as moderator of this group, I think this is a very good question to post here.
the largest support group in the nation, as far as i know, who specialize in cross-cultural adoptions is PACT, Gail Steinberg and Beth Hall's organization. you can reach them at http://www.pactadopt.org/ . a quick google search also turned up the following resources: adoption.com's area A New York State site TAF Of course, make sure that all the adoption professionals you work with are aware of your openness to adopting transculturally, and ask them to investigate their national network of resources.

I contacted PACT and am scheduled to speak in more detail with Julia tomorrow! They appear to be a great organization and prayerfully, this is what my husband and I have been looking for.
We hear that there are so many African-American and bi-racial infants that need to be adopted, but some of the horror stories of adoptions gone wrong and scam artists have made me nervous about where to turn. Thanks again, Nelson! ![]() |
