Question Is Anyone Doing Their Own Website?

My DH & I are over 40 and have heard that the more you do to network to find a Bmother, the better your chances are to adopt a cc newborn sooner....
So, with that in mind, I'm going to create a website for us and business cards and put the website's addy on the cards and have friends around the country post the cards (where it's legal, of course). We are planning on using multiple agencies, attorneys, facilitators, etc (will call at least 8 of them tomorrow to "talk") and will post who we are working with on the website.
We are coming short of installing an 800#...don't feel comfortable enough to be the first contact right now.
My Q:
Who has gone this route?
What exactly did you put on your website?
Did you have problems with agencies working with your website?
If your website is still in existance, could you PM me the addy so I could look at it?
If you have already adopted, do you feel that doing a website & business cards helped in our adoption?
Any advice you can give?????

thanks
Kat

Is it ABSOLUTELY a necessity that the child be caucasian? I mean no offence but have you concidered a biracial baby?
There are thousands being born everyday and you might have a greater chance of getting a newborn if you were open to race.

I am not trying to be offensive to anyone. DH and I are not going the newborn route. We chose to adopt "special Need" or Waiting children. I understand that this is not something that everyone opts to do, but if you could at least be open to race you could have a greater chance.

If I have offended anyone I am truly sorry.

Have a Blessed day

Gidget:
Thanks for responding to my question even if you didn't answer it.
We understand that being more open with our criteria would make things somewhat easier on the wait; however, in order to adopt a transracial newborn requires conditions that we're not able to work with...taking racial awareness classes, having people of that race available for an ongoing relationship with the child, as well as continuing to honor the child's heritage. For one thing, that would not make us eligible to adopt an AA newborn since our community does not have many AA citizens and our child would not have the "contact" to other AA people available.
Plus, my DH & I discussed this issue, as well as the "open"ness issue. Like all perspective adoptive parents, we have to decide what we "can live with"...my criteria that I won't change is "newborn", my DH's is "caucasian".
Again, we realize that wanting to adopt a cc newborn will possibly delay our match, just as us being over 40 might and that is why we decided to do more than just wait for a call from an agency...
thus, back to my original question....

Once again my appologies.......... I was not trying to offend you by any means.

As for web sites,,,, I really have not heard of many. I started a small webpage just to keep people informed of what we were going through.

I however have not seen any i guess for people such as yourself who are looking for **'s. I hope all goes well in your search and you get the baby you've dreamed of......

May God Bless you!

You can look at our little page,,,,,,,,, feel free.

Hi, we created a website and it has really helped. The only networking we've done so far is the parentprofiles listing. We list our website there and several prospective birthmoms have looked at it and contacted us from it. It is mostly the same as what's on parent profiles, but it was nice to give it a little more personal.

Don't worry too much about age. We were matched for awhile with a birthmother who ultimately chose an older (40s) couple for her twins. She was 40 herself and also wanted parents who lived closer to her than we did.

Best wishes and feel free to PM me if you have more questions.
Kimberly

We made a web site as well. I posted it wherever I could on the internet that didn't cost us an arm & a leg. It was basically our Parent Profile but with more pictures.

We had a few pbmoms contact from it, but most of our pbmoms that looked at us were from the Referral Service we used & the Attorney.

I'll email you our web site. Now remember, it was done over a year ago so it isn't updated AT ALL! LOL
